| The first Code Server was built to solve a problem on REC's network. The value of the idea was recognized and we decided to patent it. |
| The next implementation was done to show that a Code Server would work
with Windows.
The optimization did not slow down the loading of programs, yet forced all module requests to go through the Code Server. |
| Code Servers are planned for most major operating systems, but REC does not have the resources to develop them. Windows 95 and 98 follow essentially the same method of loading programs, and a Code Server could be developed as either an add-on or an integral part of the OS. In fact, any OS could use a Code Server because they all request files (modules) and a Code Server simply handles these requests. |
